ABOUT ME
Hi I’m Jenna. Printed and Pressed Studio sells handmade pressed flowers, linocut prints and cards from my studio in Auckland, New Zealand. Feel free to check out what's available on 'Available to Buy'.
It all started when I began pressing flowers in 2020. While I was browsing Trade Me, I saw a beautiful, old flower press and decided that I would give it a go. I love the process of gathering, pressing and storing flowers then arranging them in a way that’s visually appealing.
My introduction to linocut was pure luck. Just before the 4-month lockdown we had here in 2021, I happened to see an “Intro to linocut kit” at my local art store. I had always been curious about the process so I bought it. I spent the next 4 months carving away for hours a day. As well as a sanity saver during that period, I was hooked at the creativity, effort and process that goes into creating each piece.
A bit about me
1. I love the process of physically making things by hand and create each piece myself. I try to use recycled and pre-loved frames from op- shops (I’m trying to live more sustainably where I can).
2. The pressed flowers all come from my back garden or are collected on my walks.
3. I have a van called Nancy which I bought in 2020 and did up. She has wildflower, custom made curtains and I take her on trips around NZ whenever I can.
4. I currently create from my little home studio (my desk) in Auckland, New Zealand.
5. I love photography, nature and I adore animals. I have two rescue kittens called Mouse and Ru. Check them out on 'Scrapbook'.
